Rev. Max Bishop

Hilltop Fellowship Church is truly blessed to have two ordained Presbyters. Rev. Max Bishop has been a significant resource for our startup and growth. Max arrived at his vocation through less trodden paths. He trained to become a merchant marine officer at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy right out of high school. He was drawn to the opportunities of high adventure and travel in which he indulged for approximately eight years after graduation. But ultimately it proved a poor substitute for true fulfillment.

Since the day he first surrendered to Christ, he has known what true peace and joy are. The Lord was good and gave Max his most precious gift, his wife Patty. Together they raised three children who have made them very proud.

Max pursued his calling and obtained his MDiv degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and then traveled across denominational lines, finally to anchor in a unified expression of the Church called the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches. Max has served Christ as a hospice chaplain for 25 years, a pastor for 10 years, and presently is a minister at large at Hilltop Fellowship, as well as member of its governing board.
